Classical V-Belts: One of the most popular belts in transmission of power is classical V-belts. You will find them in the normal machines such as lawn mowers, washing machines, and in the automobile engine. Shaped like a trapezoid (they are wider on the top, and narrower on the bottom) they can safely be placed in pulley grooves, and their performance is smooth and reliable over a broad spectrum of applications.
